Car Rental
€€€
Time: 3-5 hours
Price:
Minimum €80 per day.
Positives:
Convenience of leaving when you want and stopping where you want.
Negatives:
Pricey.
Rental drop-offs are found in Napoli near the airport. Although you won't be using your car much on the Amalfi Coast (given the lack of parking in the towns), you'll need to pay for the rental car for the days not in use.
Must review Italian road signs in advance to avoid hefty traffic fines.
Tips:
Research "Zona Traffico Limitato" (restricted driving zones) in advance.
Ensure you rent an AUTOMATIC transmission (unless you know how to drive a stick shift).
Contact your end destination far in advance to determine parking options.
Some hotels and home rentals offer parking.
Others have off-site parking.
Some hotels and rental homes offer a service to return your rental car for you upon arrival.

Private Chauffeur
€€€€
Time: 4 hours
Price:
€600 one way plus tip.
Positives:
Pickup from your hotel and drop-off at your destination of choice.
No need to worry about:
Transport from hotel to train station or airport.
Arranging parking upon arrival.
Delays at train stations or airports.
Understanding Italian traffic signs.
Traffic or directions (enjoy the sights on the drive!)
A built-in Italian tour guide if you want to stop at towns along the way!
Stops in Basilicata are worth it!
Negatives:
Pricey.

Train (Bari to Napoli only)
€
Time: 4-5 hours
Price:
€15 ticket.
€30-50 1st class ticket.
Plus the cost of transport to and from Bari/Napoli.
Positives:
Cheap.
Comfort seat on 1st Class price is worth it.
Negatives:
Delays are out of your control.
Still need to book transport from Napoli Centrale Train Station to your destination.
In the Works - Opening Late 2024 (hopefully 🤞🏼)!
TrenItalia is hopeful to soon complete a project that will take the train ride from Bari to Napoli from 4 hours down to 2 hours!
More info here.

Fly
(Not an option)
No direct flights from Bari to Napoli.
In the Works:
